Position summary

Two (2) positions to be filled:

Prepare video tapes and/or audio tapes for digitization. Manage multiple digitization events concurrently. Troubleshoot situations where digitization event does not go according to the script. Update library catalog record for digitized audio or video tape. Perform necessary editing processes to digital files. Perform quality control. Save to designated file location. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications summary

High level of attention to detail and quality of work. Organized and orderly. Possession of a strong work ethic. Ability to understand instructions and training in English and follow through on instructions without constant supervision. Full-time Andrews University student. If international, you must have the necessary visa allowing you to work in the USA. Ability to work at least 10 hours per week. Able to work in two to four hour time blocks.

Duties and responsibilities

*Prepare VHS videotapes and/or audio cassettes for digitization.

*Manage multiple digitization events concurrently.

*Troubleshoot situations where digitization event does not go according to the script.

*Update library catalog record for digitized audio or video tape.

*Perform necessary editing processes to digital files.

*Perform quality control.

*Save to designated file location.

*Other duties as assigned.

None.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

*High level of attention to detail and quality of work.

*Organized and orderly.

*Possession of a strong work ethic.

*Ability to understand instructions and training in English and follow through on instructions without constant supervision.

*Full-time Andrews University student.

*If international, you must have the necessary visa allowing you to work in the USA.

*Ability to faithfully and consistantly work at least 10 hours per week on an agreed to schedule. More hours may be available during the summer. 

*Opening in your class and other activities schedule to allow working in two to four hour time blocks.

Desired Qualifications: [not required]

*Familiarity with using audio cassette and/or VHS video recording hardware.

*Familiarity with using Adobe Premier highly desireable.

*Comfort and proficiency in using computers with a range of computing experiences.

*Prefer two (2) or more years remaining at Andrews University.

*Seventh-day Adventist background is desirable.

Technical competencies

Take "Office Proficiency Skills" test at Human Resources/Student Labor.

Interpersonal interactions

Some interaction with staff and other students.

Physical demands

Be able to lift boxes containing video/audio tapes.

Work environment

Typical semi-office environment.

Relatively temperate climate with low to mid-level noise.
