Position summary
The Undergraduate Advising coordinator will work in the Office of Undergraduate Education to assist in the implementation of institution-wide programming designed to support undergraduate students and coordinate undergraduate advising initiatives.
Qualifications summary
Education: Bachelor’s degree required;
Experience: Must have experience in student services, such as enrollment, academic advising, undergraduate programing or pre-college programs.
Interpersonal skills: Must have excellent communication skills and work well with diverse groups of students, faculty and community members.
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
Duties and responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Advising
- Advise first year students as needed and assist academic departments in the onboarding of new students.
- Coordinate the assignment of faculty and staff advisors at the undergraduate level.
- Assist in yearly advisor training
- Pre-College Services
- Assist in the advising of Main campus high school students
- Assist in the recruiting and planning of summer programs
- Communications and recruiting
- Maintain office web pages and social media pages as needed.
- Communicate with new students beginning at the point of admissions.
- New Undergraduate Initiatives
- Work with the Undergraduate Dean and Assistant Undergraduate Dean on new initiatives as needed.
