Position summary
Teach graduate level courses in research methods, applied statistics, program evaluation and scale/survey construction. Able to teach in-person and online courses. Serve in Master’s thesis and doctoral dissertation committees as Chair and/or Methodologist. Provide academic advisement to students in the program (what program - department?); maintain an active research agenda as documented in publications and presentations in conferences; serve in program, college and university committees.
Qualifications summary
- Earned doctorate in Research & Evaluation, Educational Research, Educational Psychology with emphasis in research and statistics or related fields.
- Minimum 3-years working in the field of research and statistical methodologies.
- Evidence of scholarship through research publications and presentations.
- Ability to successfully guide students in completing their Master’s thesis and/or Doctoral Dissertations.
- Advanced skills in verbal and written English
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
Duties and responsibilities
Teach quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods research designs to an inter-disciplinary group of graduate students.
Teach applied univariate and multivariate statistical techniques, including structural equation modeling.
Teach courses in program evaluation, and modern educational/psychological measurement.
Serve as Chair and/or Methodologist for Master’s Thesis and Doctoral Dissertation committees.
Advise students and faculty on research designs and data analysis techniques.
Deliver both in-person and online learning courses.
Maintain an active research agenda demonstrated through publications and presentations at regional and national conferences.
Assist in the improvement and development of program curricula.
Teach courses at various times, including evenings; travel to extension campus may be required.
Stay informed of current trends and new approaches to instruction, and new developments in the field of educational and psychological research and applied statistics via professional development activities.
Maintain professional development/growth through involvement in research, publications, presentations at conferences, and maintaining active memberships in appropriate professional organizations (e.g. APA, AERA).
Serve as core faculty member of the Program in Educational Psychology (what level?).
Participate in developing and implementing University policies, guiding principles, objectives and functions in accordance with the philosophy of the University.
Attend regularly scheduled program, department, college and university meetings.
Meet with students to address academic, course, and research requirements.
Work closely with other faculty in a team-oriented environment.
Supervisory responsibilities
Directly supervises 1-2 graduate assistants. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Qualifications
- Earned doctorate in Research & Evaluation, Educational Research, Educational Psychology with emphasis in research and statistics or related fields.

- Detailed oriented and organized with good analytical skills.

- Advanced working knowledge of data analysis software such as SPSS and AMOS.
- Knowledge of using NVivo (or other qualitative data analysis software) and EndNote (or other reference management system).
- Possess time management skills that allow for many demands and time constraints.

Technical competencies
- Beginning to Intermediate skill level in MS Office.
- Effectively organize a wide variety of documents, files and information in various formats and levels of confidentiality.
- Ability to prepare a wide variety of reports and written materials (e.g. correspondence, notices, letters, research reports, handbooks, minutes, newsletters, etc.).
