DEVELOPMENT - Coordinator of Annual Campaigns

Position summary
The Coordinator of Annual Campaigns is responsible for developing and implementing strategies (in collaboration with the director of development) for all annual campaigns for Andrews University. This dynamic leader will be responsible for creating, implementing, and evaluating annual fundraising initiatives whose purpose is to build a long-term base for support for Andrews University.
Qualifications summary
The candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of three (3) years of professional work experience in the area of fundraising or similar field with strong self-motivation and high level of professionalism.
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
Duties and responsibilities
- Overall management and leadership responsibility for all annual giving including planning and executing a multi-channel strategy utilizing direct mail, email, calling, texting, web, social media, and additional channels as identified. Examples of campaigns are:
- Young alumni campaign
- Lapsed donor campaign
- Year-end campaign
- Spring campaign
- We met at Andrews campaign
- Graduating class campaign
- Parent campaign
- Faculty/Staff campaign
- 50 year class reunion campaign
- 25 year class reunion campaign
- Giving Tuesday campaign
- Work with campus departments to coordinate and advise on specific departmental fundraising/communication efforts
- Work in conjunction with the Office of Alumni Services in connecting with the reunion gift chair to coordinate 50-year reunion gift, identify potential donors, and develop solicitation strategies
- Utilize data to create segmented appeal structure and communication plan to target donors by giving behavior and constituency. Analyze results and use data to inform short-term and long-term tactics and strategies
- Collaborate with advancement communications to develop and maintain consistency of annual giving messaging used in solicitations, stewardship, volunteer work, and events. Ensure alignment with university branding in developing and implementing strategies for increasing alumni participation in the annual giving program
- Collaborate with Vice President for University Advancement, Director of Development, and Senior Development Officers to develop soliciation, communication, and stewardship strategies for leadership annual giving donors, including President's Council members and Board members
- Collaborate with Director of Alumni to further build relationships with alumni, parents, and friends to foster a culture of annual giving
- Identify and leverage university-wide opportunities to increase overall giving and participation among alumni, parents and friends
- Participate in prospect research, in collaboration with Prospect Research Officer leading to donor identification, solicitation, and stewardship of annual giving donors
- Support University Advancement in its efforts to maintain the integrity of the database system, and provide appropriate reports, records, and other data as requested
- In partnership with University Communications, regularly update website content for the Development section; produce publications and communications for annual campaigns
- Collaborate with director of development on various donor recognition events as needed
- Manage the budget which covers the expense of the annual giving program
- Other duties and responsibilities as deemed appropriate
Supervisory responsibilities
Supervise student office assistant as needed
Supervise student callers as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of three (3) years of professional work experience in the area of fundraising or similar field
- Outstanding organizational skills; initiate and complete multiple tasks on time with competing priorities and deadlines
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and judgment to represent Andrews both within and outside the university, while maintaining appropriate confidentiality
- Strong facility with Banner
- Ability to write and speak persuasively; excellent written, oral, and computer skills
- Impeccable attention to detail
- Ability to establish goals and action plans and to work effectively and collaboratively as part of the university advancement team to achieve goals
- Proven ability to lead projects to completion; and the ability to plan and set meaningful objectives
- Strong self-motivation and high level of professionalism
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
Technical competencies
Proven proficiency in Microsoft XP Office Suite (Excel, Word); proficiency with complex Word merge procedures
Interpersonal interactions
- Must be comfortable and confident interacting with students in advisory role
- Must be comfortable and confident interacting with alumni and donors, face to face, by phone, or through written communication
Physical demands
On occasion, this job may require the employee to lift 15-25 lb. boxes of envelopes or other printed material
Work environment
The work environment has good lighting with windows and is relatively quiet.
