Position summary
The Dean's Office is looking for two qualified Seminary students. One as a Financial Assistant/Building Coordinator and the other as an AMD Coordinator/Chapel Attendance Manager.
Qualifications summary
2+ year commitment (year-round including summers and breaks), 10-20 hours per week, good computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook and general trouble shooting abilities), organized, self-starter, keen attention to detail, timely, customer friendly, commitment to work policies and standards, confidential, culturally aware and sensitive, available on weekends (from time to time), must have a financial background, knowledge in USA Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) preferred.
Duties and responsibilities
Building: Schedules classrooms, committee rooms and chapel usage, and schedules seminary open and close times with Campus Safety. Posts room schedules weekly. Schedules special events including conferences and weddings (may need to be on site at times during some events). Assigns lockers to students. Requests keys for building occupants. Follows up on other building items such as: COVID-19 building protocols, emergency preparedness, maintenance items, and usage issues. Answers seminary main line/inquiry phone calls. Other duties as assigned.
Financial: Assists the Seminary Dean’s Office in processing financial items as assigned, processing AMD payments for MDiv students, assist with chapel attendance and online posting of chapel media, filing, updating spreadsheets, other projects as assigned. May help faculty and staff with computer issues when needed.

Qualifications

Technical competencies
Good computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook and general trouble shooting abilities), knowledge in USA Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) preferred. Ability to create and maintain computer documents, records of finance. Ability to create and maintain multi-sheet spreadsheets, ability to be extremely detailed in multiple accounts, class schedules, projects, forms, and processes. Answer phone calls, emails, written correspondence, etc..
Interpersonal interactions
Must be comfortable interacting with those seeking to book space in the Seminary building, interacting with students regarding their chapel attendance, answering the general incoming phone, etc. Must feel and act comfortably with all the people who interact with this office: students, faculty, staff, cohort personnel, and others. Must have a warm and friendly personality. Must be willing to help the interacting people according to their needs. Must be able to interact on a professional level with faculty and staff. Must be a team player and fit comfortably with the office atmosphere.
Physical demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers to handle and feel; reach with hands and arms; and hear and speak. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk, to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work environment
Work is performed in a typical/shared office environment with moderate noise level, open space and multiple staff. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often exposed to risks related to computer use and sedentary work. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration. The employee must be able to able to work remotely if requested by the university due to special circumstances.
