HUMAN RESOURCES ADMINISTRATION - Employment Assistant

  Hourly Full-time (35-40)

Position summary

Responsible for assisting in maintaining communication/paperwork flow between University departments and the Human Resource office (contracts, recommendation for appointment forms, pay rate sheets (PAFs) and Electronic Personal Actions Form (EPAFs), hire letters, job postings, termination forms, and other documents) and assisting customers at the Employment Office front desk.

Qualifications summary

Associate degree, or two to three years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 


Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.

Duties and responsibilities

Includes the following, as well as other responsibilities that may be assigned as needed:



Supervisory responsibilities

Reports to: Employment Manager.

Supervises:  Student assistants working on needed projects.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Works with the Employment Manager on supervisory issues.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

Associate degree, or two to three years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret employment documents, audit reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, managers, administration, clients, customers, and the general public. Strong written and oral communication skills.


Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.

Technical competencies

Ability to use a computer, printer, scanner, and fax machine. Proficient and speedy typing skills desired. Ability to use a computer to write, edit, and maintain Word and Google documents, spreadsheets, process manuals, emails, Adobe Acrobat Pro, digital files, and other possible tasks.

Interpersonal interactions

Ability to work with all types of personalities in challenging situations.
