Job Classification
Position summary
Reporting to and supporting the Principal, the vice principal has responsibility for daily operations involving academics, student life and administrative functions for Andrews Academy.
Qualifications summary

Duties and responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Administrative
- Serves as the administrative officer responsible for the academy daily operations.
- Responsible for ensuring appropriate chaperonage is available for class/club trips as needed.
- Participates in and is present for faculty meetings, graduation and other official academy functions.
- Serves as the front-line officer in dealing with academy discipline issues.
Academic
- Responsible for the implementation and execution of the curriculum as developed by the Curriculum Committee. Participates in the Committee.
- Supervises the registrar including but not limited to domestic/international registrations - reviewing and approving all applications while discussing any questionable/problematic applicants with the principal.
- Responsible for identifying the need for testing (through the guidance counselor) for academic placement as needed.
Student Life
- Responsible for coordination of student life activities – supervising the planning, development and coordination of teacher/parent sponsorship teams.
- Responsible for coordinating social/spiritual activities for the school calendar year.
- Lead Student Association sponsor.
- Coordinates new student orientation.
- Responsible for discipline, code of conduct and attendance enforcement.
Supervisory responsibilities
The Vice Principal oversees program, event or conference coordination. The VP ensures the details surrounding facilities and caterer, advertising, communications and coordinating speakers, are carried out within event budgets.
Qualifications
- Masters degree
- Has held or is eligible for state certification
- Administrative education/training certification or equivalent experience
- Five years secondary teaching experience
- 2 – 5 years of secondary administrative experience as a vice principal/principal
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
