Position summary
The Director of the Office of International Student Services and Programs (OISSP) will focus on directing daily office operations, managing immigration matters for all international students, overseeing initiatives and other stratagies that ensure international student wellbeing, and collaborating with the Executive Director of the International Center on communication and compliance matters relating to international students.

Duties and responsibilities
Serve in the role of Designated School Official (DSO) and oversee the daily operations of OISSP by focusing on:
- supervising international financial advisors in the I-20 (F-1 visas) and DS-2019 (J-1 visas) qualification process for new international students
- coordinating and managing I-20 / DS-2019 issuance and onboarding F-1 / J-1 international students with other DSOs and OISSP staff
- guiding international students on immigration matters throughout their academic programs of study and while they are in post-completion OPT (F-1 students)
- guiding international students in other visa statuses (e.g., R-1, etc.)
- serving as a consultant on immigration matters across campus for students, faculty, and staff
Coordinate and manage procedures, processes, events, and other initiatives focusing on the spiritual and social well being of international students, including:
- overseeing the onboarding process for new international students in collaboration with other offices on campus as appropriate
- providing workshops and other events on daily life needs and processes (e.g., opening a bank account, getting a driver's license, etc.)
- serving as a contact for international student emergencies in collaboration Campus Safety and other offices on campus as appropriate
- coordinating cultural/social events (e.g., holiday events, food fair, etc.) in collaboration with Student Life and other offices on campus as appropriate
- coordinating spiritual events (e.g., international vespers, international Sabbath, etc.) in collaboration with PMC, Center for Faith Engagement, and other offices on campus as appropriate
Collaborate with the Exec. Director of the International Center on communication and compliance matters, including:
- sending regular communication/messages via email and other platforms so that international students are informed at all stages of their academic journey
- maintaining the OISSP website so that it is updated, easy to understand, and comprehensive of all information needed to maintain immigration status and be successful as an international studen ton campus
- staying in compliance with SEVIS and other government regulations, including both ad-hoc issues involving specific students and regular compliance procedures such as recertification
Supervisory responsibilities
Responsible for supervising International Financial Advisors and other DSOs in addition to other OISSP staff, inclduing graduate assistants
Qualifications
- master's degree required
- minimum of 5 years of administrative experience in higher education specifically caring for international students and working with SEVIS on immigration matters
- must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident of the U.S.
- must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing

Interpersonal interactions
Ability to interact and communicate effectively with prospective international students, new applicants, new students, continuing students, faculty, staff, and SEVIS, other government agencies, and external institutions (i.e., DSOs at other schools)
