Position summary
- Teach a full load of coarses in OT Studies at the masters and doctoral levels
- Teach online and courses blended with face-to-face delivery
- Develop a research agenda demonstrated through publications and/or presentations at professional conferences
- Advise masters and doctoral students in their program and course plan
- Provide timely, constructive feedback to students to help them monitor their progress and support learning
- Participate in program, department and university committees and service
- Remain current with trends, techniques, and advances in distance learning
- Pursue university-required activities for eligibility for promotion and tenure
- Perform other duties and tasks as needed
Qualifications summary
- An earned doctoral degree (PhD or ThD) in the area of Old Testament studies with an emphasis in biblical exegesis
- Capacity to communicate both on popular and scholarly levels
- Experience in teaching and/or pastoral ministry in the Seventh-day Adventist Church
- Interest in continuously exploring and mastering technology as an instructional tool
- Record of academic engagement and publications is expected
- Good interpersonal skills
- Solid support of Seventh-day Adventist beliefs and mission
- Commitment to mentor students
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
Duties and responsibilities
- Teach graduate-level courses related to Biblical Studies
- Teach online and courses blended with face-to-face delivery
- Serve on doctoral dissertation committees
- Develop a research agenda demonstrated through publications and/or presentations at professional conferences
- Advise masters and doctoral students in their program and course plan
- Provide timely, constructive feedback to students to help them monitor their progress and support learning
- Participate in program, department and university committees and service
- Develop proficiency in multiple technology platforms for student learning and portfolios
- Pursue university-required activities for eligibility for promotion and tenure
- Service to the University through participation in shared governance, committees, and/or other programs and opportunities that support its goals, mission and values of the Adventist Church
- Perform other duties and tasks as needed upon request.
Supervisory responsibilities
- Advise masters and doctoral students in their program and course plan

Qualifications

- An earned doctoral degree (PhD or ThD) in the area of Old Testament studies with an emphasis in biblical exegesis
- Evidence of effective teaching, preferably in higher education
- Ability to work with a diverse population of students
- Evidence of experience in research methodologies
- Evidence of ability to work collegially and collaboratively with others.
- Interest in continuously exploring and mastering technology as an instructional tool
- A demonstrated commitment to establishing and maintaining collegial relationships with faculty colleagues, leadership, clients, and students.
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
