Position summary
Serves as the international student financial advisor and helps international students complete the financial process for a student visa. Coordinates and collects finacial information of international students to assit with financial clearance and issuance of the I-20. Works closely with the principal designated school official (PDSO) and designated school official (DSO) in the International Student Services office.
Qualifications summary
Bachelor's degree or equivalent certification; international banking experience; experience working with international students.
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
Duties and responsibilities
- Communicate with international students regarding financial documents necessary to prepare for I-20s
- Gather financial documentation, deposits, and prepayments from students
- Complete the first step of the I-20 process (financial clearance for issuance of I-20) and notify PDSO/DSO for each international students seeking a student visa
- Collaborate with PDSO/DSO, admissions, registrar, student financial services, international student office, and other departments to effectively evaluate financial documents to admit international students, issue I-20s, and enroll international students
- See students daily with walk-ins and pre-set appointments in the International Student Services office to answer specific questions regarding student accounts, changes in visa status, and program changes
- Return phone calls, voice mails, emails and paper messages within 24 hours from parents, students, prospective students, faculty, staff, and general inquireis
- Authorize release of foreign deposits
- Actively participate in assigned meetings with International Student Services
- Participate in all International Student Services activities (such as international student fairs, social activities, orientation sessions, workshops, etc.)
- Manage and host student visit activities (previews, student visits, etc.) for international students as needed

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent certification. International banking experience. People skills, writing skills, and communication skills needed. Flexibility. Banner experience and operate major software suites (Microsoft). Detail oriented; self-starter. Able to relate to and understand different cultures. Must be sensitive to diversity.
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.

Ability to speak multiple languages preferred. Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Able to write routine reports and correspondence. Able to speak effectively before groups of prospective students, church adminstration, or peer groups.
