Position summary
Performs a variety of professional and administrative duties in support of the day-to-day operations of the Division of Marketing & Enrollment Management (MEM).
This is not an administrative assistant position. The Assistant to the Vice President will serve as a key member of the Marketing & Enrollment Management leadership team.
Qualifications summary
Very detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to see the “big” picture (strategy) as well as the details of project flows required for successful implementation. Excellent interpersonal skills—a good communicator—positive, diplomatic and friendly. Have a good understanding and sensibility about marketing, communication, enrollment and overall strategy. Ability to multi-task and focus in an often distracting environment.
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
Duties and responsibilities
- Assists in program planning and development, and interprets, monitors and analyzes information regarding policies and procedures.
- Manages three department budgets, in collaboration with department/unit directors.
- Supports division leaders by coordinating staff personnel and office management matters.
- Leads project management with an emphasis on enrollment marketing campaigns and projects. This will require close collaboration with relevant MEM team members and clients.
- Supports the Vice President for Strategy, Marketing & Enrollment in the development and implementation of marketing strategies and tactics.
- Leads marketing research and planning for a data-driven model to marketing.
- Leads special projects, as delegated by the Vice President for Strategy, Marketing & Enrollment, to support senior administration.
- In collaboration with the Vice President for Strategy, Marketing & Enrollment, leads the development and implementation of the MEM and University strategic plans, and monitors progress of those plans.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory responsibilities
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, assigning and tracking work, and addressing complaints and resolving problems. Other supervisory responsibilities, including student staff, as assigned.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in communication or marketing fields) and preferably two to five years related experience and/or training.
Language Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Mathematical Skills

Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables and often conflicting situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Technical competencies
Comfortable with both PC and Mac platforms. Technologically intuitive and a quick learner. Proficient in designated project management software, Microsoft Office Suite, Recruit, Banner, etc., as needed.
Interpersonal interactions
Must connect comfortably and professionally with all the people who interact with this office: administrators, faculty, staff, students and vendors. Must have a warm, patient and friendly personality and be willing to help clients according to their needs. Must be a team player and fit comfortably with the office atmosphere and philosophy of service. Must have natural customer service skills, including the ability to address and resolve conflicts.
