Position summary
Religion Instructor:
- Teach 6 classes per day
- Help with Bible Camp planning
- Serve as organizational sponsor
- Assist in duties assigned by the principal
- Help with the planning of worship services
- Help create spritual master plan for the school
Qualifications summary
- M.A. in religion/M.Div preferred; or B.A. in religion/theology considered with apppropriate experence
- NAD Certification to teach secondary Religion/Bible along with minium of three years of classroom or related experence
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
Duties and responsibilities
- Teach 6 classes per day
- Take attendance consistently
- Serve in counseling/advising of students as needed
- Evaluate student materials daily
- Update grades for students and parents on a regular basis
- Keep the office, project room and classroom neat and attractive consistently
- Provide leadership in the planning of events such as weeks of prayer, Bible Camp, and spiritual retreats
- Substitute for other teachers as needed
- Speak for morning devotions as needed
- Supervise gym nights as scheduled
- Plan, design, and construct needed bulletin board displays
- Serve as a chaperone on school-sponsored tours and trips
- Serve as a sponsor/advisor of one or more school organizations
- Be a member of standing and ad-hoc committees as required by the administration
- Attend, sponsor, and promote major programs of the academy
Supervisory responsibilities
- Responsible for reader(s)/custodians working in the religion room
- Responsible for serving as advisor to groups practicing in the chapel for upcoming programming specifically reated to your department
- Responsible to make certain department is secured at the conclusion of the day
