Position summary
Teaches in the Berrien RESA Math and Science Center program for local high school students; teaches one course and off-sequence student groups as needed, provides student supervision, participates in occasional student events (lock-ins, campout, etc.). Adventist preferred but not required.
Qualifications summary
Master's degree in mathematics, math education, or related field
Secondary Teaching Certification preferred
High school math teaching experience preferred, including calculus
Ability to work collegially and professionally with students, staff, faculty, and administrators from a rich diversity of international, cultural, religious, and ethnic backgrounds
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
Duties and responsibilities
Teach one year-long courses in the Berrien RESA Math & Science Center program
Teaches off-sequence student groups
Coordinate duties with other mathematics teachers in the Math & Science Center program (fill in for each other for short-term absences)
Assist in supervising students
Participate in student support activities
Duties are subject to change each year as circumstances, such as class scheduling, change
Supervisory responsibilities

Qualifications
Master's degree in mathematics, math education, or related field
Secondary Teaching Certification preferred
AP Calculus Certification preferred
High school math teaching experience preferred, including calculus
Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English
Deep personal commitment to Christ and to the thoughtful application of the Bible to life
Ability to work collegially and professionally with students, staff, faculty, and administrators from a rich diversity of international, cultural, religious, and ethnic backgrounds
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
Technical competencies
Ability to learn and use effectively institutional systems for job duties including Attendance, Course Management, and Grade submission
Interpersonal interactions
Must work closely with other math teacher(s) in this program to provide for any instructional needs of the students
Must understand and respect the boundaries of teaching within the public school system, although on an Adventist campus
Physical demands
