Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Language Skills                                         

The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from Center management, program participants, fellow mentors, mentees, faculty, Seminarians and stakeholders.


Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.

Technical competencies

Technical Competencies                                     

The ability to read and analyze correspondence and reports, develop grant applications, and interpret and produce instructional material. The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management and stakeholders.

Reasoning Ability                                      

The ability to solve practical problems where program policies and procedures require discretional judgments.

Computer Skills

Good computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Zoom, Teams, Claritysoft, etc.).                                      

Interpersonal interactions

Other Skills and Abilities                                             

Must have a positive and friendly personality and interact on a professional level with faculty and mentees.  Must be willing to advocate on behalf of participants and work independently.

Relationships Contacts

The Assistant Director must have a positive and friendly personality and be willing to provide support to program participants. Must be willing to train participants and interact on a professional level with faculty and mentors. Must be willing to advocate on behalf of participants and work independently. Must be willing to travel as required.

Physical demands

Be able to handle loads up to 10 lbs., sometimes up to 20 lbs.  Requires a lot of walking or standing, Close vision for computer work. Ability to talk and listen clearly. High demands of phone and zoom interactions with participants.

 

Work environment

Must be able to travel (in economy) between 10 to 15% of the assignment. Environment is varied and can be demanding. Provide spiritual guidance to participants.
