Position summary
Under general direction of the lead shop mechanic, provide maintenance service at Andrews University. fleet of Piper aircraft.
Qualifications summary
- Current FAA Aircraft Maintenance Certificate with both the Airframe and Powerplant ratings
- Inspection Authorization preferred
- Bachelors’ degree, degree preferred
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
Duties and responsibilities
- Perform aircraft maintenance and inspection work under the direction of the lead mechanic for Andrews Flight school aircraft.
- Pull aircraft in/out of hangar; help in tying down aircraft; fueling, assist in departmental activities; attend meetings; performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory responsibilities
None
Qualifications
- Current Aircraft Maintenance Certificate with both the Airframe and Powerplant ratings.
- Inspection Authorization-Perferred
- Bachelors’ degree in aviation or related field degree is preferred.
- Prefer significant aircraft maintenance experience on a large variety of GA aircraft.
- Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written English.

Technical competencies
- Knowledge of light aircraft maintenance
- Piper aircraft experience preferred.

Physical demands
- Must be able to perform all type of maintenance functions
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in all types of Michigan weather while performing maintenance functions as needed.
- Must be able to move aircraft in and out of the hanger.
