Purpose of Job:
The department of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology at Andrews University is seeking an Associate Professor to teach courses for the undergraduate and graduate programs. The department is the fastest growing department within the School of Health Professions. The department offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science with an emphasis in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and will begin a new Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology in Fall 2014 pending approval by the Council on Academic Accreditation. Andrews University is a Seventh-day Adventist institution serving approximately 100 undergraduate students in the department of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and 30 graduate students each academic year. In addition to our academic programs, our department has a clinic in which we provide a variety of speech and audiological services.
Qualifications summary
- Earned Doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent.
- Valid Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).
- Strong interest and/or experience in Master’s program implementation.
- Strong commitment to team work and collegiality.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to treat confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
- Technological proficiency i.e. (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, iPad applications, interactive whiteboard utilization).
- State of Michigan licensure.
- Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual in English and Spanish and/or Portuguese.
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
Duties and responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Supervise clinical practicum.
- Advise and mentor students.
- Participate in research/scholarly activities and service.
- Contribute to development of the Master’s program at Andrews University.
