Position summary

Graduate Assistant will work with faculty researchers to develop a searchable archive of archaeological field notes by scanning, transcribing, and posting paper records.  Students who have participated in an archaeological dig are preferred.

• Self-motivated and comfortable working alone.


• Comfortable with using computers and learning new digital applications and skills.

Duties and responsibilities

• Digitize field note documents


• Transcribe handwritten notes


• Post digital files and enter metadata into the Digital Commons


• Other related duties as assigned.

Supervisory responsibilities

None

Qualifications

• Proficiency with computers.


• Attention to detail.


• Be dependable and reliable.


• Works well alone.

• MS Office Suite.


• Adobe and other application software.


• Willing to learn new software.
