Position summary
Administer user objects within MS Active Directory domain(s) and Apple Open Directory domain(s). This includes researching, developing, implementing, troubleshooting, and documenting user objects. User Objects include Users, Computers, Groups, Policies, and Organizational Units.
Install, configure, and manage MS and Apple domain management tools (Asset, Virtualization, Web Services, and Databases).
Install, configure, and manage MS and Apple domain desktop services, remote access, printing, update services, and malware protection.
Administer virtualized client desktop systems including network access, deployment, and troubleshooting.
Maintain and administer campus hosted virtualized local or departmental servers.
Should be able to work with others in a winning and winsome way

Duties and responsibilities
- Documents network problems and resolution for future reference.
- Manage user accounts permissions (file shares, email, printing, ect…).
- Develops and documents system standards for computer and networked desktop devices.
- Manage and standardize collaborative (Exchange) account creation and advanced troubleshooting of email problems.
- Administer and standardize print servers, printer services (AD configuration, deployment), and supported printer hardware.
- Administer and deploy operating system or application updates on desktops and client servers.
- Standardize departmental group policies and document the implementation.
- Document and manage the Apple Open Directory domain(s).
- Implement and deploy domain security policies for desktops.
- Liaison between Client Services and SANS network administrators for communication and planning while helping in implementation.
- Liaison between campus desktop support personnel and ITS organizational units.
- Maintain Microsoft management services (including SCCM, SCOM, WSUS, etc…).
- Design and manage Apple Management servers and services, including Apple Remote Desktop.
- Administer desktop services for campus users, including print, and malware protection.
- Provide administration for campus hosted virtualized departmental Windows based servers as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Microsoft Certification – Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) or equivalent
- Apple OSX Server Certification – Apple Certified Technical Coordinator (ACTC) or equivalent
- Minimum of two years’ experience in:
- System administration in client support of a Microsoft Active Directory domain structure.
- Maintenance and repair of networked computer hardware.
- Support of Microsoft Windows operating systems and software applications.
- Support of Apple OS X operating systems and software applications.
- Experience in Ethernet network installation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Experience in providing client technical assistance on computer system hardware, system software, and application software.
