Position summary
Assisting the chair of the department in administrative functions, serving students, caring for the departmental environment
Qualifications summary
- Associate degree preferred
- Experience in academic environment preferred
- Familiar with AU policies and procedures & computer programs,
- Being able to multi-task
- Good interpersonal skills
- Positive spiritual attitude
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
Duties and responsibilities
- Keep regular office hours, being in charge of office environment
- Overview of schedule and appointment for chair
- Process administrative forms for the department
- Communicating with prospective students
- Have an oversight over departmental finances
- Edit annual student handbook
Supervisory responsibilities
- Student workers
- Building manager
- Departmental equipment
Qualifications
- Associate degree preferred
- Experience in academic environment preferred
- Graphic skills
- Computer skills
- Ability to express themselves well in oral and written English
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
Technical competencies
- Proficent in Microsoft Office
- Typing speed at the level of at least 50 words per minute
Interpersonal interactions
Good skills in dealing with young people
Physical demands
Be able to move back and forth to copy room.
Work environment
Students can be noisy, and now and then we play the piano.
