Position summary
Primary Duties:
• This person routinely assists the Building Manager in warehouse activities, setting up and tearing down classrooms, and moving heavy equipment.
• Must be able to lift heavy objects repeatedly
• Assists as receptionist, handles phones and sorts mail
• Updates various MS Access databases
• Prepares mailings and tabulates surveys
• Photocopies and collates materials
• Campus errands as directed
• Monitors PT Resource Room: checks materials in/out, re-shelves, catalogues new books
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail required

Duties and responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assist Building Manager in warehouse, classroom set up and arranging, and moving heavy equipment
- Must be able to lift repeatedly 50 pounds or more
- Assists as receptionist and triage
- Updates various databases: high degree of accuracy is required
- Monitors PT Resource Room: check-in/check-out of books, re-shelves books, catalogs new books
- Errands for faculty, department office, and other locations on campus as directed
- Photocopies and collates materials
- Sorts and distributes mail
- Maintains supplies and storage area
- Assists in maintaining current department bulletin boards
- Assists as back-up person in opening the building in the morning and locking of entire building in the afternoon
- Creates file folders, labels, hanging files and purges outdated materials as directed
- Tabulates surveys and types comments
- Assists with office communications
- Shreds confidential documents as necessary
- Perform other duties as assigned by office personnel

- Abide by the University’s policy for checking-in/out by using the card swipe machine. If your I.D. card is lost, a new must be purchased promptly from the AU Administrative offices.
