DINING SERVICES - Marketing Specialist

Position summary
Coordinate with Dining Services program managers to create, plan, and execute monthly and annual marketing plans. Build, edit, and maintain the Dining Services webpage. Design, edit, and distribute marketing materials both print and web based. Perform any other duties deemed necessary by management.

Duties and responsibilities
These include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Develop, with direction from senior staff, the annual marketing plan for Dining Services
- Independently develop marketing material, both print and web based, for distribution campus wide
- Distribute and follow up on distributed materials be evaluating sales and customer activities data
- Ensure security and confidentiality of data
- Monitor and maintain office supplies inventory specific to functionality of role
- Update and modify as often as necessary (including daily) web based information and display materials
- Assist the Front of the House Manager in executing monthly “Food for Your Wellbeing” marketing materials in the Terrace Café
- Assist the Retail Manager, and supervisory staff, with implementation of monotony breaker sales tactics to drive customer participation
- Do other projects as requested by senior management staff
Supervisory responsibilities
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work. Appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or university; or at least two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced computer literacy skills are required. Design degree is preferred with knowledge of graphic design essential to the position.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customer or employees of the organization.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Comfort with accounting procedures.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to apply to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
Technical competencies
Have excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Graphic Design programs
