Position summary
The Marketing Assistant, under the supervision of the assistant director and the director of the Press, executes marketing projects for specific publications of the University Press, and assists with general marketing and public relations projects. This work may involve producing the clerical data entry necessary for developing mailing lists, as well as conceptualizing print materials, organizing marketing and sales events, and making telephone calls.
The job requires a very high level of attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, organizational skill and ability, and excellent communication skills in writing, on the telephone.
Because extensive knowledge of Adventist church organizations and institutions is required, graduate level students may be preferred.
Qualifications summary

Duties and responsibilities
Assist the Press staff with miscellaneous projects
- Conceptualize and execute marketing plans for Andrews University Press publications
- Communicate efficiently with customers and prospects
- Maintain accurate records

Qualifications
- Reliability and dependability in meeting daily schedule
- Willingness to follow instructions in detail and learn new tasks
- Numerical skills
- Ability to lift and carry boxes up to 50 lbs.
- Available 3-4 hours per day, Monday through Friday, usually in the mornings
- High level of data entry accuracy is a top priority
- Willingness to double check accuracy of work
Technical competencies
- Must have basic familiarity with MS Office Suite
Interpersonal interactions
Must be able to work collegially in an office setting with other immediate associates.
Physical demands
Must be able at any given time to move a large quantity of boxes weighing up to 50 lbs.
