Position summary
Weekend Announcer: Staff WAUS FM, On Air Shifts available. WAUS is Andrews University's Classical Music, fine arts radio station. Housed in HPAC, WAUS is the voice of Andrews University presenting Classical music programming 24/7 on radio and on-line.
Student Announcers are assigned a weekly shift for a Semester or School Year. 10 hrs of training is paid. Live, speaking on microphone, playing selected music, and announcing events and features is a part of the day-to-day job.
Must commit to weekly Staff Meeting Attendance (Wednesdays &7pm), and regular weekend shift hours.
Saturday daytime shifts (7am to 7pm) are needed ASAP.
Qualifications summary
Seeking mature, composed, conscientious undergrad or graduate students. Clear Diction and superb English is a must, Knowledge of languages, classical music, composers and repertoir is helpful, but not required, Shifts are available for year round employment as a student at AU.
Duties and responsibilities
- Announcing classical music, programs, events, station promotions, and underwriter announcements.
- Oversee the broadcast of WAUS
- Operate technuical equipment: microphones, CD players, computers, etc.
- Ensure compliance with broadcast standards
- Required weekly air shifts and staff meetings,with some holidays.

Qualifications
English Language skills required.
Technical competencies
Technical experience with computers, digital recording, microphones, vocal performance, public speaking helpful, but not required.
Interpersonal interactions
Must be comfortable with public speaking, being coached in broadcasting, and have a pleasant spoken manner.
