Position summary
- General/Student Teaching
- 20 hours/weekyear round
- Commitment of 2 years
- Attend weekly supervisor meetings (Mondays 11:00am)
- Keep up to date and document the tracking and placement of student teachers
- Put together the packets for principals requesting student teacher placements
- Email, print and keep track of student teacher weekly schedules and weekly plan
- Update and send out supervision schedule
- Create the mileage chart for supervisors
Qualifications summary
- Supervise student teachers in the field (approx 1 per week)
- Occasionally teach a class
- Seniors’ record folders (blue packets) for registrar
Duties and responsibilities
First Days
-
Work with director of student teaching to prepare and organize the 3 week course schedule (checking dates and times consistency throughout document)

Prepare binders and type up paperwork associated with first days

Attend the First Days (3 weeks in August)

Assist with the set up of the classroom for First Days (Friday before class begins)

Keep track and arrange first aid and CPR training
-
Collect money for fingerprinting and CPR – and documentation

Contact presenters for First Days – confirming dates and times
Professional Days

Send out all of the email requesting administrators, teachers and other presenters

Prepare the program

Notify student teachers of their responsibilities

Set up for Professional days

Be present on both days
-
Organize catering with administrative assistant and registrar (Nancy and Mrs. Wolfer)
Teacher Dedication Ceremony

Friday before graduation

Assist with set-up for event

Help clean up after ceremony
Supervisory responsibilities
- Send out letters of thanks/Christmas cards to principals and participating school partners
- Document and keep track of all supervisor observation reports for student teachers
- Assist with current issues or tasks as needed (advance portfolio)
Qualifications
- Masters level student
- Strong English speaking and writing skills
Technical competencies
- Microsoft Excel Spreadsheets
- Learning Hub Gradebook and working knowledge
- Upload files and grades onto Learning Hub
