Position summary
This position serves as the Director for the Griggs International Academy (GIA) K-8 program. The person in this position will supervise teachers, coach parents, support NAD elementary schools. Addressing K-8 curriculum will be a key element in this position.
Qualifications summary
The qualifications needed for this position include elementary teacher certification (denominational certication required/state certification preferred). The candidate should have a masters degree related to education
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
Duties and responsibilities
- Parent Communicatutortion
- Enrollment Process
- Tutor students
- Monitor student progress
- Write assessment of student perfomance
- Standardized Test evaluation
- Coordinate and establish EEPs
- Consult course development for K-8
- Member of K-12 Course Planning
- Exploring new technologies
- Evaluate IEP and approve extensions
- Special projects as assigned by principal
- Follow Maryland and Michigan requirement
- Research and understand current trends in education
- Marketing and recruiting students for K-8
- Update handbook
Supervisory responsibilities
- Supervise/support K-8 teachers
- Be contact person for all elementary students
- Review teacher/course evaluations and surveys
Qualifications
- B.S. in Elementary Education
- M.A. in Education preferred
- Certification for teaching (NAD Required/State Recommended)
- Years of experience: Minimum of 5 years (more preferred)
- High level of organization skills and project management
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
