\n University Convocation is a long standing trad ition at Andrews University where we begin the new school year as an entir e campus family to ask for God&rsquo\;s blessing. We formally and corporat ely entrust to him our lives\, plans and studies. It&rsquo\;s a beautiful tradition where the pomp and circumstance of higher education is on displa y--with the faculty in academic regalia--and the only time in the school y ear where the entire administration\, faculty\, staff and students gather together to celebrate the richness of higher education.

\n President Andrea Luxton will for the first time formally address the c ampus at the annual University Convocation\, which officially opens the 20 16&ndash\;2017 academic year\, on \;Thursday\, August 25\, at 10:30 a.m. \;in Pioneer Memorial Church. Please note that 10 a.m. and 1 0:30 a.m. classes will be cancelled. Faculty will process in full academic regalia and be seated on the platform.

\n Immediately following the service\, refreshments will be served on the Campus Green wi th live music provided by Cardinal Number &\; Scott Moncrieff\, profess or of English. In the event of rain\, refreshments will be distributed to the Campus Center\, Buller Hall lobby\, Seminary Commons and Ad Building.< /p>\n
