Who Shall Be Able to Stand?

We are passengers on board a plane which begins to lose altitude as one of its engines goes out. The pilot asks us to start throwing out our baggage as the only alternative to crashing. But we are hesitant to part with our prized possessions: Our influences, our talents, our treasures, and ultimately our imperfect characters. Do we really expect to make it to heaven with a plane overloaded with cherished sins? What must we do to be able to stand until the end without any worldly baggage to hold us down?
