Death of Colin Fenwick

Life Stories | Posted on April 22, 2020

We are saddened to inform the campus that one of our own students, Colin Fenwick, tragically died on Tuesday, April 21, 2020, due to unknown causes.

Colin was completing his first year in the DPT program and was also finishing an undergraduate BA in music at Andrews University.

José Bourget, our University chaplain, had the opportunity to talk with Colin’s family, who lives in Three Rivers, Michigan.

We invite you to offer prayers and love for the Fenwick family—including Colin’s mother, father and sisters Deidre and Audrey (who is a senior at Andrews University)—as well as for his classmates, faculty, staff and friends here at Andrews as they now face this time of incredible pain and unexpected loss.

For faculty, staff and students who would like to talk to someone about this sad news, we encourage you to reach out to our Campus Ministries team via text message at 269-281-4383 and/or our Counseling & Testing Center at 269-471-3470.

We’ll share additional details on a formal memorial service for Colin when they are available.

Friends and members of Colin’s church have set up a fund to assist Colin's family with funeral expenses and student loans. If you’re interested in helping, please visit gofundme.com/f/colin-fenwick-funeral-and-memorial-expenses.

Thank you again for your fervent prayers and heartfelt concern for all who know and love Colin and now mourn his death. You are invited to share memories and condolences with the family below.

My heart is heavy to hear this news, and I pray that each of you may sense the loving and strong arms of Jesus holding you during this most difficult time. "The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms" (Deuteronomy 33:27 nkjv). Jonathan Sharley (cousin of Patrick Miller, and alumnus of Andrews University Music Department).
