Paula Dronen holds joint appointment within the College of Arts & Sciences and the School of Architecture, Art & Design at Andrews University. Dr. Dronen serves as the Assistant Dean and an Associate Professor of Architecture within the School of Architecture, Art & Design since 2008 teaching various courses in Land-Use Law and Construction Law. She joined the faculty of the History and Political Science department in 2015 and serves as the pre-law advisor, pre-law club sponsor, and teaches courses such as Introduction to American Law and Introduction to the Legal Profession.
Dr. Dronen pursued her undergraduate studies at Andrews University and holds a Juris Doctor from Michigan State University with a concentration in Criminal Law. While at Michigan State she received the Jurisprudence Award in Worker’s Compensation and did her externship at the Berrien County Prosecutor’s office. Of her work at Andrews, advising students is one of her favorite responsibilities receiving the Andrews University Academic Advisor of the Year Award in 1997 and 2013 respectively. Praying with students and encouraging them to become independent, critical thinkers are the highlight of her work at Andrews.
Born and raised in Southwest Michigan, Dr. Dronen resides in a small, rural farm community with her husband, John Dronen and their four children.
