Orchestra Audition Music

Welcome! All auditions info can be found at the links for each instrument below. All string, woodwind, and brass musicians will prepare and record excerpts from two of our pieces (both Vltava/The Moldau and Danzon No.2), as described below. Percussion and harp musicians just have one selection to prepare and record.

Please submit finalized audition video links with your nomination form by January 10 at the latest. Thanks!

*Update on January 19, 2020:

1. Orchestra students may participate in the Music Festival orchestra without auditioning if they are interested in learning and performing our revised two pieces for the festival's orchestra, an arrangement of Amazing Grace and an arrangement of the Finale to Beethoven's Symphony No.5. In order for students to proceed with this plan and not audition, they will need to receive a nomination for participation from their school's music director.

2. Students that successfully complete an audition with the Moldau & Danzon excerpts found below will be eligible for an additional opportunity: to participate in a side-by-side rehearsal and performance of The Moldau with the Andrews University Symphony Orchestra (from 7-9pm on Thursday, March 5). Students that audition will also be eligible to perform in a master class for AU faculty members and/or be selected to perform at Pioneer Memorial Church during Sabbath morning. If students are interested in this option but have not yet completed their video audition, they may alternatively audition for Dr. Wild when they arrive at Andrews in the afternoon on Wednesday, March 4.
