In European countries many groups of people consist of immigrants that represent displaced populations.

In former communist countries like Romania and Bulgaria, where there is an emphasis on evangelism, we have seen openness to materials and support of pastors and the church. This is echoed throughout the region by a surge in the need to provide coursework for pastors and lay workers.

Griggs has been privileged to join church and educational leaders in the former Yugoslavia and in Latvia, Romania, Great Britain, Russia, and other countries to help address specific needs and projects. Many of these projects have focused on training for pastors.  Recently, an Adventist church in the Baltic region celebrated its first graduation of locally trained pastors in over 50 years. The students were the first to graduate from an off-campus theological program provided by Griggs in cooperation with Newbold College (England).
