The Associate of Arts in Christian Discipleship is provides a foundational biblical knowledge for lay leaders and Bible workers committed to serving their local church. This program is also the first half of the Bachelor in Religion program.

Program Outcomes

Students who complete this program should be able to:

  • Explain and apply principles of Christian faith to their personal life and ministry.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the global mission, beliefs, and heritage of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
  • Address issues of faith within the framework of a Seventh-day Adventist community.

Program Description

The General Studies Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees can be individualized for students seeking to complete a degree for personal or professional goals.

Program Outcomes

Students who complete this program should be able to:

  • Communicate effectively, think critically, observe accurately, analyze quantitatively, and solve problems creatively.
  • Appreciate creative and aesthetic activity through participation in culturally diverse contexts.
  • Master content knowledge in selected discipline(s).
  • Articulate a Christian worldview and understanding of the Adventist faith and Andrews mission applied to chosen profession and convictions.
  • Form and enjoy enduring friendships cross-culturally.

Program Description

The Associate of Science degree prepares students for entry-level job opportunities in the business field. The degree is designed for the student who cannot stay in college for a four-year degree or who wishes to interrupt his/her program for a period of time and return to college to complete a four-year baccalaureate degree.

  • Identify major concepts across business functional areas.
  • Incorporate relevant quantitative and qualitative data in analysis.
  • Identify and apply appropriate business theories in addressing business issues.

The BA in Religion is designed for adults choosing to contribute to Adventist ministry while employed in a career in another field. Graduates may also be employed as Bible workers, chaplains and teachers, or continue postgraduate programs such as MCM, MPM, MA Rel and MDiv.

This adult degree completion General Communication program is designed for the post-traditional student seeking professional development, preparation for a graduate program, or personal fulfillment after years of vocational experience. The streamlined major ensures that students graduate with a strong communication foundation, customized through electives. Courses are available both on campus and online, maximizing flexibility for part-time adult students (24 years or older) transferring in 25 or more credits.

Students who complete this program should be able to:

  • Demonstrate possession of a personal worldview and ethical/moral basis for communication choices and actions arising from an critical consideration of a Seventh-day Adventist Biblical worldview.
  • Demonstrate effective oral, written, interpersonal, and mediated communication skills.
  • Apply appropriate research skills.
  • Engage an articulated, personal faith through effective leadership and positive, uplifting service to humanity.

Program Description

This Bachelor of Technology in Aviation program is designed for the post-traditional student seeking professional and personal fulfillment after years of vocational experience. The customized major validates FAA certifications strengthened by bachelor degree specialized and general education. Major courses are available on campus, CORE and elective options online, maximizing flexibility for part-time adult students transferring in 25 or more credits. One orientation and flight review campus visit is required at the start of the program.

Program Description

This Certificate prepares Christians to better connect with God, self, and others, through a deeper understanding of biblical foundations, applied to their vocational calling and specific ministries. The certificate requires academic study and service learning in an internship ministry experience, with a portfolio as evidence of completing all certificate outcomes. All requirements can be completed online and on campus. All credits in this certificate will count towards an associate degree in Christian Discipleship.

Program Outcomes

Students who complete this program should be able to:

  • Demonstrate understanding of the spiritual development needs of different groups.
  • Appreciate biblical themes and key concepts foundational to being a disciple and to disciple others by applying the principles of biblical discipleship to the students own faith journey.
  • Document experiences in a ministry of discipling where the academic training is applied to practical service.
Program Overview Certificate Requirements

Program Description

This program will be launched in Fall 2016. It provides biblical and theological foundations for practical Hispanic ministry through blended learning. The certificate requires academic study and service learning in a practical life setting, with a portfolio as evidence of completing all certificate outcomes.

Program Outcomes

At the end of the program the students should be able (in Spanish) to:

  • Document foundational knowledge in the area of Bible and Adventist teachings
  • Communicate the biblical message employing proper hermeneutical tools
  • Document service experiences and skills in practical witnessing
