Training date:     Friday, January 18, 2013,
Location:             Lincoln Room (Student Center, 2nd floor)
Starting time:      9 a.m.

Training will focus on developing and strengthening active listening skills related to connecting and engaging students, providing participants with basic strategies to interface with students challenged with mental health, relational, stage of development,  identity, and situational concerns. This will be a four-hour training experience with ample time reserved to address questions related to individual student challenges.  Guest presenter is Dr. Saul Rivera, a licensed psychologist currently serving as Assistant Director for Multicultural Services at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He is an alumnus of Andrews University, and very familiar with the student population.

A light lunch will be served at the end of the training. Late RSVP’s from faculty and staff will be accepted until noon Wednesday, January 16, to be included in our catered lunch and to receive prepared materials.

All participants need to RSVP so that we may have materials ready for you and
include you in our lunch plans. To RSVP please send us a confirmation email at ctcenter@andrews.edu, or call the Counseling & Testing Center at 269-471-3470.
