Campus Day of Prayer

   Agenda
   Mon, April 27, 2015 @ 08:00 am - 11:55 pm
    Campus-wide

At the suggestion of Deans’ Council and President’s Cabinet, I am inviting members of the faculty and staff to a day of prayer on Monday, April 27.

Here is a way to do this informally that will more easily fit into our varied schedules. We will designate Rose Chapel in Buller Hall, the PMC sanctuary and the Seminary chapel as three venues where we can come alone or in small groups for shorter or longer times of prayer, beginning over the lunch hour and into the afternoon as schedules allow, with a joint gathering for closing prayers at the end of General Faculty meeting, 5 p.m., in Garber Auditorium, Chan Shun Hall (staff are invited for the prayer session).

Why pray now? Here is what my colleagues have said:

  1. Many of our students are about to graduate into a society where it will not be easy to live as authentic Christians: We should pray for them.
  2. Andrews, along with many other colleges and schools, is experiencing some headwind with enrollment and finances: We should pray for Andrews.
  3. Higher education is changing in many new directions, requiring new resources at a time when education is already costly: We should pray about it.

I am glad to extend this invitation for everyone to do on campus what we do weekly in President’s Cabinet and Deans’ Council: Begin with prayers for Andrews and for those who work and study here.

Cordially,
Niels-Erik Andreasen
