Dual Degrees

A Dual Degree is a formal arrangement between two Andrews University departments or programs that allow credit from certain courses to be applied to both degrees. The dual degree agreement will determine how many credits will be shared between the two degrees and the students must satisfy the GPA requirements and program expectations of both programs. Both degrees are to be awarded at the same graduation ceremony.

Dual Degrees provides a range of benefits to participating students, including:

  • Allowing to complete two degrees in less time than it would normally take to complete each degree separately
  • Providing complementary preparation and broadening future career opportunities
  • Save money as some Graduate programs have tuition reduction when part of a dual degree.

In order to be considered for admission into a dual graduate degree prospective students must:

  • Fill out two applications, one for each program. Each application will required its own application fee.
  • Submit all the admission requirements for the two programs composing the Dual degree. Note that admission requirements are similar but different from program to program.
  • After both applications are completed and all the admission requirements are submitted, the departments evaluate all the academic credentials of a prospective student and make an admission decision. Note that each department has the right to accept or deny an applicant apart from the other.
