Special Book Collections
A number of special named collections are held by the Adventist Heritage
Center. Access to all of these materials is via the James White Library's
on-line catalog . These
include the following:

Advent Source Collection
-
A collection of nearly 4,000 books and copies of significant volumes, whole
or in part, collected by LeRoy Edwin Froom during preparation of his four-volume
set Prophetic Faith of Our Fathers. The general theme of the collection
is the thread of Bible prophecy from the earliest days of Christianity
to the modern era. Watch for ASC in the call number area when using
the Library's on-line catalog
. This designation means the item is a part of the Advent Source
Collection.

Adventist Evangelistic Media
Archives
-
The Center is the repository for the historical records of one of the longest-running
radio religious programs, the
Voice of
Prophecy . Also in this archives are the historical archives from
Faith
for Today, the longest-running religious television program, and
records for
It Is Written,
one of the most popular and successful religious television programs.
In addition to the electronic media, the archives contains much material
documenting the methodologies and practices of evangelists including glass
slides, cloth charts, and advertising handbills.

John Nevins Andrews
Collection
-
Over 150 books from the private library of John N. Andrews. Many of these
were originally in the General Conference Library but were transferred
to the Seminary Library years ago and then to the Center in the 1960s.
Watch for Andrews in the call number area when using the Library's on-line
catalog . This designation means the item is a part of the John
Nevins Andrews Collection.

Andrews University Archives
-
The Adventist Heritage Center is the location for the official repository
for Andrews University records. It holds the official records of many of
the past presidents as well as those of various deans of the schools and
other official records. The AHC also holds a complete set of publications
such as the
Bulletin,
the
Student Movement ,
the Cast, and the
Cardinal.
In addition, many other records such as class schedules, minutes of many
committees, and graduation programs are held.

Conditional Immortality Source
Collection

This is a collection of 1,146 books, reproductions, and microfilm developed
by LeRoy Edwin Froom for his book Conditionalist Faith of Our Fathers.
The collection documents various views on the destiny of man through the
centuries. Watch for CISC in the call number area when using the
Library's on-line catalog
. This designation means the item is a part of the Conditional Immortality
Source Collection.

Martin Luther Collection

This is a significant collection of 38 16th century pamphlets and books
written by Martin Luther and his contemporaries.

George McCready Price
Collection
-
This is a collection of 252 books from the library of G. M. Price. Topics
are mostly in geology and related sciences. Watch for Price in the
call number area when using the Library's on-line
catalog . This designation means the item is a part of the George
McCready Price Collection.

William A. Scharffenberg
Collection
-
This is a collection of over 600 books covering the history and activities
of the temperance movement, particularly the anti-alcohol phase in the
United States in the early decades of the 20th century. Watch for
Scharf in the call number area when using the Library's on-line
catalog . This designation means the item is a part of the William
A. Scharffenberg Collection.

Seventh-day Adventist
Periodicals

The Adventist Heritage Center holds one of the finest and most extensive
collection of English language Seventh-day Adventist periodicals. Holdings
generally begin with volume 1 and continue to the present. The holdings
of non-English language SDA periodicals is unrivaled. In many cases the
Center's copy may be the only copy in existence any where in the world.
AHC currently receives over 900 titles regularly.

George Suhrie Bible
Collection
-
This forms the core of the Center's Bible collection. It includes 132 Bibles
and other forms of scripture. It documents, in part, the development of
the English Bible, though Bibles in other languages are present. Several
Bibles are on rotating display in the museum portion of the Center.

Ellen G. White Writings
-
While the Center is not the primary center for the study of Ellen White's
writings, it does hold an extensive collection of all of her published
writings, and these in as many variant editions as possible. Also held
is an extensive collection of Ellen White's published writings in non-English
