Biography

Ngoriiakl Corey Johnson grew up in the country woods of Virginia after being born in the city of Baltimore, MD. After struggling to find motivation through grade school and various high schools, he applied to Southern Adventist University a week before school started. There, he found himself, and graduated in 2010 with a BS in Business Administration. Not satisfied with the degree, he ventured into the mission field of Palau the following year. In missions and service is where Dean Johnson discovered his purpose, and returned in 2015 for another four years. In pursuit of better service for others, he was inspired to apply to Andrews Seminary and arrived on campus in 2019. His plan is to complete the Masters of Divinity degree with emphasis in Youth & Young Adult Ministry and Chaplaincy, and then to pursue the Doctorate in Missiology. Dean Johnson started working in the Meier Hall Health Club before joining the dean staff as a Student Dean. He eventually signed on as Interim Assistant Dean, and is now a full time Assistant Dean. Dean Johnson’s passion for missions and service are often on display throughout his office. His Palauan name, Ngoriiakl, was given to him by his sponsor mom when he left Palau in 2019. It means “taking a step ahead.” In his free time,  Dean Johnson can be found in the gym, on the field, or somewhere exploring around the world.
