Dean Keele graduated from Southern Adventist University with a BA in broadcast journalism and a minor in photography. She has also received an MA in educational psychology from Andrews University.
Dean Keele was born in Big Rapids, Michigan, to Jim and Trudy Hopkins. Soon after, they relocated to Berrien Springs where Jim worked for Andrews University until the family relocated in 2002 to Kettering, Ohio. Dean Keele attended Great Lakes Adventist Academy, graduating in 2004. Her first year of higher education was completed here at Andrews University, before transferring to Southern Adventist University to complete a BA in broadcast journalism. During that time, she took a year off of school to be a student missionary and served as assistant dean of women for Highland Academy in Portland, Tennessee. In 2009, she married Donnie Keele. They relocated to California to live and work at Camp Wawona in Yosemite National Park. Two years later, they returned to Andrews University to complete their master's degrees. They both joined the Andrews University Residence Life staff in 2012. In her free time, Dean Keele enjoys spending time with her husband and two dogs, all things food-related, and being a CrossFit coach.
