Newcomers are often surprised to hear Andrews students talk about "hitting the beach." It's a little known fact that Michigan has more coastline than the entire Eastern Seaboard, second in total length only to Alaska! And any jet-setter will attest that the picturesque beaches of Lake Michigan—with their towering dunes, gentle waves and silken sand—rival or surpass any coastal stretch on the Pacific, Atlantic or Mediterranean. A few miles from campus, you'll find 240-foot sand dunes, sailboats and yachts, beach-front ice cream shops, lighthouses and NO salt water! And best of all, Michigan beach-goers get all that beauty without the hustle and bustle of the highly trafficked coastal beaches. The Michigan beach scene is, indeed, a well-kept secret, and a pleasant surprise for all incoming Andrews students.
