Don Livesay Featured at Chapel

Don Livesay, president of the Lake Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, will speak for chapel on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009. The program will be held at Pioneer Memorial Church at 11:30 a.m. That evening, from 5-6 p.m., Livesay will be available to chat or answer questions at a Meet and Greet in the Office of Campus Ministries. All are welcome to attend both events. Co-curricular credit is offered for chapel. 
 
The veteran Seventh-day Adventist Church administrator will present the message, “Can You Climb?”

Don Livesay began serving as the president of the Lake Union Conference in 2008 with prior service as vice president and president of the Oregon Conference. Although he had not previously worked in the Lake Union, Livesay was born in Benton Harbor, Mich. and his first daughter was born in St. Joseph, Mich.

Livesay completed his MDiv at Andrews University in 1976. Since then, he was served the church in a variety of roles including pastor, academy chaplain and conference youth director. He and his wife Barbara, an educational administrator, have two daughters, Christina and Stephanie, both living in Loma Linda, Calif.
