Photography Volunteers

Volunteer photographers are needed to help capture the event and story of the passion play. Like the previous year's passion play photos, we are looking for an end product of digital images only.  Photographers must be at least college age and have previous experience.

If you would like to help shoot, you will need to supply your own camera.

Photographers will retain the copyright of all images shot, but Andrews University will maintain full and free non-exclusive use of the images for whatever means they see fit.

Guidelines

  • No flash indoors.
  • When shooting digitally, make sure your camera is set to record the highest quality and resolution images.
  • Be considerate and try to avoid getting in the way of the crowd.

Digital

  • Digital images must be shot on a high end camera, preferably a digital SLR
  • Shoot with a low ISO
  • Make sure your camera is set to record the highest quality JPG (or RAW) and full resolution images.
  • Do not crop, resave, or otherwise alter original jpg images.
  • When you are finished shooting for the weekend, burn your best images onto CD(s) and drop them by the University Relations building.
  • Include your name and contact information in a text file on the CD(s).

Film

  • You can shoot film if you are willing to cover the cost of film, developing, and scanning.
  • After you get your images developed, your best images should be scanned as high resolution TIF images and burned onto CD(s).
  • Include your name and contact information in a text file on the CD(s).
  • When you have finished scanning and burning your files to CD, drop them off at the University Relations building.

Recommended Equipment

  • Recent Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon, or Olympus Digital SLR
  • Wide angle (16-35 2.8 or similar) lens for indoor and panoramic shots.
  • Zoom (70-200 or similar) lens for portraits and up-close shots.
  • A 28-105 or similar wide angle zoom can also work quite well as an all around lens.
  • Monopod or tripod (especially useful if you have a heavy telephoto lens)

If you have any questions, contact the photography coordinator.
