The architecture faculty aspires to teach sound thinking, practical skills, and rigorous scholarship in the discipline of architecture; and promotes students who: Craft buildings that are dignified, durable and purposeful; Design communities that foster civility; Serve mankind in accord with their professional and Christian vocation; Seek the virtues of joy, beauty, wholeness and moderation in their lifelong pursuit of learning. All this for God's honor and His glory until the risen Christ comes again.

Practice what you learn in a professional setting

Upon acceptance into the graduate program students are eligible to participate in a practicum program elective for 7 credit hours.  This Practicum program elective is voluntary and functions upon the advice and consent of the faculty for which application must be made.  The course facilitates a professional office experience for those students who may not have worked in an office and would benefit from exposure to the activities of a professional working environment.  The specific opportunities and venues vary and are chosen by the faculty of the School of Architecture & Interior Design.

Principle objectives for this course are specific to the venue and involve business type and formation, construction observation, project structure and process, as well as community involvement and public meeting process.

The venues may provide opportunities that are domestic or international and may be with for-profit or not-for-profit entities.

...the students would have secured an all-round education, which would have prepared them, not only for practical work in various trades, but for a place on the Lord’s farm in the earth made new.
