Ruth Rivera comes from a missionary family who has served in pastoral and community development service. This history has involved her in a longtime ministry of advocacy for mission moving around different places such as Colombia, Ecuador, Puerto Rico, and the United States. No stranger to the Midwest, Ruth completed her MDiv at Andrews University and CPE Units from the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education. Ruth served for two years as Youth and Young Adult Pastor at the Grace Place Church in South Bend, Indiana. Prior to taking up the responsibilities as Administrative Assistant for Learning and Assessment for the Doctor of Ministry program, she served for almost three years as a pastor for outreach and evangelism in the Kansas- Nebraska Conference. Ruth is currently engaged in completing the requisites for Active Duty Navy Chaplaincy and post-graduate studies in Mental Health Counseling.
Ruth speaks both English and Spanish, and facilitates the program office's communication with members of the Spanish cohorts.
