Andrews Remote Desktop Services (ARDS)

What if your work computer was just an app?  Andrews Remote Desktop Services (ARDS) allows users to access and utilize campus network resources like network drives, administriave systems like Banner and Recruiter, as well as specialized campus software.  Users could remote into a virtual Windows desktop and perform the needed tasks as if they were on campus.

What You Need to Know Before Using ARDS

Who Can Use ARDS?

The student worker who needs to work on the files on their department G drive.
The office manager who doesn't have a laptop to bring home but needs to access web-based programs like Banner or Recruiter. No VPN required.

Data storage

All files must be saved to your network drive and not the C: drive, Desktop or Documents folders. Data that is left in the profile you are given at login may remain there for several sessions, however, storage is not guaranteed. In some cases, you may have to map the network drive manually to access your G and H drives through ARDS. If you are unsure how to map the network drive, see Working Remotely - Conecting to Network Drives.
