Biography

Mrs. Kuhn has a passion for teaching. She teaches nursing students in clinical and theoretical Nursing, having expertise in Public Health and Community Nursing, Transcultural Nursing, Pediatrics, Critical Care, Medical Surgical, Geriatrics, and Skills Lab and Simulation instruction. She is also passionate about mission service and has worked as a Public Health nurse and nurse educator as a missionary for ADRA Azerbaijan. She has taught "Intercultural Mission service in Nursing" which included a service trip to a Native-American reservation which enabled senior nursing students to apply nursing knowledge, nursing skills, cultural awareness and sensitivity, and critical thinking as they served the community. She has also worked as a critical care nurse in the Liver, Pancreas, and Kidney Transplant Unit at Loma Linda University Medical Center, CA.


Mrs. Kuhn also enjoys participating and presenting at Pediatric Nursing and Nursing Education conferences. She has presented topics such as "Management of Chronic Illnesses in Childhood: The Role of the School Nurse", "Asthma Management in Schools", "Nursing Curriculum Innovation and Native- American Competency", and “Nursing Student Feedback: The Need for Formative Assessment to Improve Student Empowerment, Learning, and Satisfaction”. Mrs. Kuhn has also participated in the Berrien County Community Health Needs Assessment survey analysis. She is currently enrolled in the PhD in Curriculum and Instruction program.


Mrs, Kuhn is the Department of Nursing Assessment Committee Chair, NLN Embassador,  Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) committee member, AU Undergraduate Admissions committee member, and has served as vice-presidents and now president-elect at Sigma Theta Tau International Eta Zeta Chapter. She also enjoys working as a volunteer nurse at the Herbie Clinic.
