We think the nurses of tomorrow deserve a scholarship today!

For the fall 2017 semester nursing students with the qualifications below will receive a yearly merit scholarship of $19,000 ($9,500 per semester) when officially admitted either by early admission or regular admission described below.

*Ongoing availability of this scholarship for future years is subject to change. Students not meeting the criteria for this scholarship who are admitted to the nursing program and students who are considered pre-nursing will receive the Andrews Partnership Scholarship (APS) based upon corresponding APS criteria for freshmen and transfer students.

Early Admission

Early admission is determined by the Department of Nursing in addition to general admission to Andrews University. Incoming freshman students that have not attended college or university as a full-time student may achieve early admission into the Andrews University nursing program under the following qualifications.

Entering as a freshman:
High School
Cumulative GPA
ACT score for the following:
Composite, Math, Science, English & Reading Score: 
3.5 or higher 22 or higher

*Note: The ACT is the only admissions test applicable to this scholarship.

Regular Admission

Transfer and current Andrews University students that wish to apply to the nursing program and receive this scholarship must meet the following criteria by the beginning of their sophomore year.

Continuing and transfer students: 
College GPA
Cognate  GPA
and Course Grades
Nursing Course
3.3 or higher 3.0 or higher with C or higher B- or higher

Typical cognates include: 

  • Anatomy and Physiology I
  • Anatomy and Physiology II
  • Human Development
  • Introduction to Psychology
  • Nutrition
  • Chemistry
