We think the nurses of tomorrow deserve a scholarship today!

Nursing students accepted into the Nursing Program who meet the qualifications below will receive the Nursing Scholarship of $19,000 ($9,500 per semester) when officially admitted as pre-nursing or nursing students. This scholarship will be applied each semester for the duration of the nursing program provided progression criteria are met and a cumulative 3.3 GPA or higher is maintained. This special scholarship is effective for new incoming students only through the Fall 2018 - Spring 2019 school year.

Beginning Fall 2019 incoming Freshmen may be eligible for the Targeted Scholarship simply because of their major. The Targeted Scholarship awards students an extra $2,000 per year. Students who qualify will have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or higher, and an ACT score of at least 20 or SAT Math and ERW combined score of at least 1020. Students not meeting the criteria for the Nursing Scholarship who are admitted to the pre-nursing or nursing program will receive the Andrews Partnership Scholarship (APS) based upon corresponding APS criteria for freshman and transfer students, or Prior Baccalaureate Degree 33% Tuition Discount for 2nd-degree students.

High School Graduates

Students accepted as freshmen that have not attended college or university as full-time students must meet the following criteria:

Entering as a Freshman:
High School
Cumulative GPA
ACT score for each of the following subjects:
Math, Science, English & Reading
3.5 or higher 22 or higher

*Note: The ACT is the only admissions test applicable to this scholarship.

Transfer and Current Andrews Students

Transfer and current Andrews University students who wish to apply to the nursing program and receive this scholarship must meet the following criteria by the beginning of their sophomore year.

Continuing and transfer students: 
College GPA
Cognate  GPA
and Course Grades
Nursing Course
3.3 or higher 3.0 or higher with a C or higher B- or higher

Typical cognates include: 

  • Anatomy and Physiology I
  • Anatomy and Physiology II
  • Human Development
  • Introduction to Psychology
  • Nutrition
  • Chemistry

2nd Degree and International Students

Students seeking a 2nd bachelor's degree and international students will be considered on a case-by-case basis based on GPA and science background to determine eligibility for the Nursing Scholarship. Early Admission Track

The Early Admission track is available to incoming freshman students that have not attended college or university as a full-time student who meets the criteria below for the Nursing Scholarship and complete the additional Nursing department requirements for acceptance into this track. This track ensures direct admission into the professional nursing program when progression criteria are met.
