Getting Started

Hello, this is your instructor, Dr. Ray McAllister, Dr. Ray, for short. I'll be guiding you through the adventure of this course of study. If you are taking other courses from me, you may have already read this news item as this contains my general policies for every class I teach.

My office hours are as follows, in New York or Washington, D.C. time: Monday morning, 10-11 A.M.; Wednesday afternoon, 2-3 P.M.;, Thursday, 2-3 P.M. I may be on at other times as I teach many classes with many assignments to grade.

If you have a question about the class, personal struggle for prayer, or anything else you wish to bring to my attention, feel free to email me or contact me by any means established by this university.

I know it may be difficult for people to keep up with the rhythm of a class that doesn't have regular meeting sessions. The temptation is to start putting things off more and more. The best way to prevent this is to get in and get the first assignment done as soon as possible. This way you will have some momentum. It is not encouraged, though, at the beginning, to work too far ahead until you become familiar with my grading style. I'd recommend waiting for the feedback on one assignment before doing the rest. Once you get to know me, do whatever you want.

I wish you the Lord's blessings as you embark on this exciting journey. You are in my prayers.
