VII, X, V, II and I if <80 mg/dL or dysfibrinogenemia
What anticoagulant therapy is monitored using the PT:
Oral anticoagulant therapy
Coumadin, coumarin, or warfarin
Normal range for PT:
10 – 12 seconds
Most common causes of prolonged PT:
Vitamin K deficiency
Certain liver disease
Specific coagulation factor deficiencies
D.I.C
Circulating anticoagulants or oral anticoagulants
Fibrin Split Products (FSP)
