1. Five types of isolation:
Strict isolation: (gown, mask & gloves)
Used when patient has contagious disease transmittable via contact or air
Enteric isolation: (gown & gloves)
Used when patient has contagious disease transmittable via contact with feces
Respiratory isolation: (mask & gloves)
Used when patient has contagious disease transmittable via air
Wound or skin isolation: (gown & gloves)
Used when patient has contagious disease transmittable via contact
